Join us in celebrating the change of seasons by helping prep Manitoba Cabin and Yurts for the winter! We’ll be stocking the Manitoba woodshed with cords of firewood, and prepping the grounds, yurts, and cabin for the colder temperatures to come. Alaska Huts will be providing home-made chili, beer from Resolution Brewing Company, and live music from a talented Seward band. Bring a dish to share for a potluck style meal in the evening, a donation for the band, and be ready to have a good time!
Woodstock is one of our favorite events, and is centered around connecting with volunteers, staff, and board – as well as introducing new folks to the beautiful area around Manitoba Cabin and the special community that keeps Huts running smoothly throughout the year. Families and people new to Manitoba are more than welcome.
We will spend the day hauling firewood, cleaning up the cabin and yurts after a long summer, and making Manitoba sparkle. In the evening, after a potluck style meal, we’ll further enjoy Resolution Brewing Company beer and boogie down to some tunes (there is rumor of a trumpet!) from a local band from Seward. This is an optionally overnight event – but bunks are first come first serve, so please emailmailbox@alaskahuts.org to save your spot! Be sure to bring a sleeping bag. Tents are also welcome.
Please bring something to share for a community potluck meal (we’ll be providing the main course – home-made chili, but strongly recommend further contributions!), your working boots, and gloves. There will be coffee provided for the following morning, but plan to bring your own breakfast!
Can’t wait to see you there. Email any questions to mailbox@alaskahuts.org.
